Kamel

A geologist and hydraulics engineer turned chef-patron, Kamel chose to enter the world of catering when he decided that the life on oil platforms was not for him. He trained in London in the 90s, and mastered his craft in such prestigious establishments as Chez Gerard (Covent Garden) and L’Oranger.

A brief visit to the Emerald Isle left such a deep impression on him that he decided to make Ireland his home. He spent several years in Dublin, leading the kitchen packs in such popular places as Boulevard Café on Exchequer Street and The Excise Bar in the IFSC. Independent, driven and ambitious, he has always dreamt about setting up his own business. In 2011, such opportunity arose and Kamel, together with his wife Justyna, opened his own café-restaurant in the West of Ireland, in the bustling town of Oranmore, Co. Galway. Since then, he has never looked back.

Kamel brings to the venture his 20 years of experience in the catering business, his leadership ability, along with his creativity in the kitchen and strong cooking skills. His background in engineering also helps a lot, as he is Péarla’s leading handyman.
